Solar energy refers primarily to the use of solar radiation for practical purposes. Over the last few decades, the developments in solar energy applications have made it possible to use solar energy for most of our energy needs.
This course presents the different types of solar energy technologies and their uses in agriculture, commercial, and residential settings, including the heating and cooling of buildings, electricity production for stationary and mobile applications, and environmental cleanup. At the end of this course you should be able to:
+ List examples of solar energy technologies and their uses.
+ Describe opportunities and challenges associated with solar energy technologies.
+ Share examples of solar energy uses in both commercial and residential settings.
+ Explain the efforts of various agencies to stimulate use of solar energy.
