Being an educator is one of the most important jobs. Supervising educators is, thus, perhaps even more important. As a supervisor, you are responsible for understanding service and regulatory issues that relate to students, faculty, and government officials, as well as the laws and policies that support them.
This course describes all aspects of educational leadership. For example, the course reviews institutional governance, committee organization, faculty supervision, and social media concerns. At the end of this course you should be able to:
+ Have an awareness of institutional governance and committee responsibilities.+ Understand concerns associated with media and social media.+ Be familiar with policies and procedures associated with faculty and staff hiring, review, tenure and promotion, and professional development.+ Understand issues surrounding international students and faculty.+ Be familiar with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), Clery Act, and reporting of abuse obligations.
