Before employees can be excellent workers, they must first understand what is expected of them. As a leader, you must set goals and gain employee buy-in on those goals, develop training plans, track outcomes, and provide effective performance feedback.
This course describes how to set goals and evaluate achievement, tasks that require planning and communication. Through this course, you will recognize the connection between your goal setting behavior and employee excellence. At the end of this course you should be able to:
+ Explain how to use a position description can be used as the basis for setting expectations and employee development.+ Describe the characteristics of effective performance goals and how to develop such goals.+ Identify different types of performance standards and methods of measuring.+ Explain how to communicate performance expectations.+ Describe how to conduct performance observations, collect data, and solicit feedback.
