All of this can have serious financial implications for your company.  What trade secrets of your companies have been misappropriated, and what measures should you have taken to protect them? 

This course provides practical tips and approaches to help determine whether you or your organization have trade secrets and to help you protect and profit from them. At the end of this course you should be able to:

+ Describe the defining characteristics of a trade secret. 

+ Identify the main categories of trade secret protection measures.

+ Recognize information that would be considered to have “value” under trade secret principles.   

+ Describe the benefits and risks of owning and exploiting our and other organization’s trade secrets.    

+ Assess whether your organization has a trade secret protection program that would be considered “reasonable under the circumstances” and thus render proprietary information legally protectable.
