Course Description

Teamwork is critical to productivity in any organization, but not all teams are successful. What makes the difference between success and failure? How do some individuals come together, work effectively, and achieve results and others not?

This course describes what teamwork is and how successful teams function. Areas of focus include the characteristics and dynamics of winning teams, guidelines for team structure, key roles and characteristics of constructive members, and processes that support positive outcomes. At the end of this course you should be able to:

+ Describe the characteristics of effective teams.
+ Explain the stages of team development.
+ Describe the structural elements and roles that support team success.
+ List and describe the key skills and processes associated with team success.
+ Describe the support needed for teams to function at high levels of performance.
