When problems arise, you may find that the cause is a failure to communicate, or you may discover a conflict that must be addressed. Either way, communication is a vital skill.
This course helps you understand the communication styles people typically use and the factors that influence communication. You will also learn how to resolve conflict constructively and how to use negotiation as a communication tool. At the end of this course, you should be able to:
+ Describe the interpersonal communication process, and share examples of factors that influence effectiveness.+ List at least three tips for writing effective emails.+ Describe the ways in which an understanding of interpersonal style can lead to improved communications and more positive relationships.+ Explain at least three approaches to conflict resolution, incorporating the possible pros and cons associated with the use of each approach (and the ways in which communication is affected).+ Describe how negotiations may be used as a communication tool for achieving understanding.
