Guatemala, officially called The Republic of Guatemala, is a Central America country with coastlines on two oceans, bordered (starting in the east and heading clockwise) by Mexico, Belize, the Caribbean Sea, Honduras, El Salvador and the North Pacific Ocean. While the Mayan civilization flourished here in ancient times, today the country has a population of over 15 million people and an economy that includes products such as sugarcane, corn, bananas, textiles, petroleum, metals and tourism.
