CPE 4010 Interpreting the Changing Role of the Leader

  • Instructor: Dr. Wesley E. Donahue, PE, PMP

Excellent organizations support leaders in understanding their roles and functions in the organization. That may seem obvious, but leaders sometimes focus on details and miss seeing the forest, especially as conditions and markets change.

This course helps you examine your leadership role and function and to consider how you might evolve your ideas to serve your organization better. You will learn how your behavior can enhance your organization’s effectiveness and reputation and yours as well. At the end of this course you should be able to:

+ Identify the typical roles and functions of leaders.
+ Describe the key skills and competencies associated with effective leadership.
+ Explain the leader's responsibilities for functioning legally, safely and ethically.
+ Describe the role of the leader as a change agent.
+ Understand the importance of following the chain of command.
