State Requirements for Professional Engineers
Most states requiring continuing education for engineers have adopted model standards of the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES). CentreStar has met the rigorous standards and requirements of NCEES / Registered Continuing Education Program (RCEP) which is now administered by the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC).
Currently, 42 states require continuing professional competency (CPC) for licensed professional engineers. If you are licensed in any one of these states, you must satisfy the continuing education PDH or CEU requirements mandated by your State Licensing Board.
Seven states require pre-approved continuing education sponsors. These states requiring pre-approval are:
- Florida (Provider # 000520)
- Louisiana (Provider # CPD.0000261)
- Indiana (Provider # CE22100004>
- Maryland (Pre-Approval List)
- New Jersey (Provider # 24GP00040400>
- New York (Pre-Approval via LA CES, RCEP. AIA)
- North Carolina (Provider # S-0598)
Centrestar is an approved PDH and CEU online provider of continuing education engineering courses for Professional Engineers in all seven states listed above, and all the other states requiring continuing education. Please note: There are a couple of states including New York, North Carolina, New Jersey and Maryland that will only accept courses categorized as "technical" courses and while their definition of "technical" varies, it is our opinion that all courses selected from our "Technical Acumen" and "Resource Management" competency clusters would be considered acceptable. However should you have questions, please contact the individual state regulatory board.
